Hi! I’m Regina, a curious being and a tech philosopher.
I studied Graphic Design, Communications, and Fine Arts.
I started working when I was 16 as a self-taught graphic designer and part-time customer service agent. During this period I learned about the different ways in which people struggle with digital products, customer complaints, user pain points, CRM, data visualization, ticketing breakdown, loyalty metrics, and legal complications.
That experience helped define my current mindset: I believe that products must be designed around the customer. Always.
When I started my second year of university, a good friend of mine, Carito Rodriguez, decided to found a start-up, Egodeus, and invited me to be the company’s first employee. We won start-up Chile's seed accelerator funding in 2012 and 2013 for our innovative process in Fashion e-commerce, while also achieving the break-even point during our first year in business, and heading towards what would be a highly profitable second year.
Afterward, I continued working as UI-UX Designer.
Working for various software agencies, I’ve met incredible individuals in highly challenging start-up environments. Most of my clients were based in the United States and Europe, so I had to hop on airplanes and travel from one place to another for a part of my life.
In 2017, I joined Booking.com and moved to Amsterdam where I could finally explore my passion for people (customer service feedback) and data, while also diving deep into analytics, a/b testing, collaborating with data scientists, defining customer research, managing the product design backlog, and motivating and leading a team towards a vision.
Looking forward to making a bigger impact, I founded Black Sheep Group, an agency that required me to negotiate, close sales, hire professionals, manage projects, define strategies, analyze data, and most importantly, choose my own clients.
During this period I had to prove myself as a leader; I redefined my mindset, discovered my values, and found new drive and strength.
Currently, I find myself wanting to explore the world of Blockchain.
I am highly motivated and believe this will unveil an interesting new chapter in my life.
Hi, I’m Regina a curious being, and a tech philosopher.
I started working when I was 16, playing around with Photoshop and Illustrator selling branding, stationery, and print graphic designs for freelance projects. I studied Communications, Graphic Design, and Arts. My first part-time job was a customer service agent. My manager Andrea Young help me to grow as a team lead myself and taught me all I needed to learn about how people struggle with products, customer complaints, user pain points, customer service ticketing services, data visualization, category breakdown, loyalty metrics, and legal complications. That experience defined my current mindset. Products have to be customer-centered designed, always.
After this experience, some good friends of mine, Carito Rodriguez, Gabo Mazotti, Rada Campiglia, decided to found a startup and invited me to be the first employee. Egodeus was an innovative online fashion brand, that reduced the cost of retail storing and shipment by printing custom designs on demand and distributing them in bulk. Together with the team of Egodeus we won Startup Chile 2015 and 2014, making the startup break-even and highly profitable in the second year. These years taught me how amazing it feels to work together with highly motivated friends who are eager to make a change and give their absolute best.
Hungry for growth and innovation, I started working as UI-UX Designer. I’ve worked for various software agencies, where I’ve met incredible individuals in a highly challenging startup environment. Most of our clients would come from the West Coast, New York, or London. This experience was fantastic to migrate from graphic design and print to digital design where I found myself learning about design for human interfaces, sitemaps, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, user research, user testing, and team collaboration. During these years I’ve had the honor to work together with admirable co-workers that later on became very close friends, like Agustin Hernandez, Enrique Galindo, Jose-Pedro Iglesias, Michael Ciego, Guillermo Colmenero, Santiago Camelo, Alberto Attia, and the list goes on...
Curious for more? Yes, always! So big was my desire to explore the world that after a few heartbroken breakups with my partner, my university, and the market in Uruguay (Looking back, that was a hard time). I went to Europe for vacations, and I decided to not return to Uruguay. Was there a plan? Not really, but I could freelance and life was good. So why not? After a year living as a nomad through Europe and the United States (and Iceland, which It felt like being in a different planet), I wanted to merge my passion for tech and traveling, so I joined Booking.com and moved definitively to Amsterdam. Was that a good choice? Amazing! Booking gave me the opportunity to travel to so many countries, and by working as an in-house designer I could finally join my passion for people (customer service feedback) and data, diving deep into analytics, a/b testing, collaborating with data scientists, defining customer research, managing the product design backlog, and motivating and leading a team towards a vision. Read the case study, It was pretty fun.
After some years, my spirit called for a deeper search, I wanted to find purpose working for projects that I felt aligned with ethically. To find out my values, I became a nomad for 3 years. I founded Black Sheep Group. The agency required me to negotiate, close sales, hire professionals, manage projects, define strategy, and analyze data. During this period I proved myself as a Leader, I redefined my mindset, discovered my values, and found new motivation and strength. I’m extremely grateful with my partners Pablo Criado-Perez, Carolina Rodriguez, Ernesto Speranza, and my best clients Lorraine Chow, Rusell Levine. During these years, I also became a certified yoga instructor, started circus training, learned the basics of free-diving, surfed in 3 countries, visited 45 countries, and volunteered to help organize an NGO for the free education of 520 women who work in tech.
Currently I find myself curious about Blockchain, and concept of DAO’s. I believe it unfolds an interesting new chapter in my life.
